Date: 1909-07-03; Paper: Bay City Times page 8 Menominee, Mich. July 3- Jacob Lafrombois, aged 81 years, one of the last surviving members of the tribe of Menominee Indians, died at his home here Friday. He celebrated his golden wedding this year.

Note: Married 50 years, married in 1859.

Date: 1909-07-06; Paper: Grand Rapids Press page 5 Indian Veteran Dead (Special in The Evening Press) Menominee, July 6 - Jacob La Frombois, one of the last surviving sons of the Indian Chief, Big White Otter of the Menominee tribe, is dead here. He has long been a picturesque figure in Menominee, and one of the most influential Indians in the northwest, and had reached the venerable age of eighty one, retaining all his faculties until the last. He was on one of a few Indians to achieve distinction in the Civil War, having served with the Forty First Wisconsin Volunteers.
